Fake Spaghetti!

WE TRIED SPAGHETTI SQUASH.
& Let me tell you, it was actually a very delicious substitute for the pasta.

Normally once a week we eat bunless burgers made from the 93/7 ground meat, onions, celery, garlic, an egg, salt-free seasoning, and a few breadcrumbs. It’s pretty basic, but so delicious mixed with some potatoes and hot sauce. Well last night we decided to adventure out and try the spaghetti squash. I may have almost burned the house down while in the shower, but it still came out perfect and it was SO easy.

Preheat the oven to 425-450F.
Slice that bad boy in half.
Put some olive oil [I put coconut oil and just a bit too much at that] on both sides.
Then you salt and pepper it and throw it in the oven face down for about 40 minutes.

Take it out, let it cool face down for about 10 minutes (or more if you’re a wimp like I am) and then get to forking. You really just graze it with the fork and the stuff just falls out. It was almost more fun to cut it than it was to eat it.

We cut up our burgers to have pretend meatballs and then topped it with tomato sauce (salt-free with only a little bit of Italian seasoning on it).

Even though it sounds extremely plain, it was well worth all the thought that went into it. It also made a good bit of “spaghetti” so we have leftovers for today. 😀

Even with a busy schedule, eating healthy isn’t as hard as people make it out to be. Yeah, it’s expensive, but it’s so worth it when what you’re eating is healthy AND delicious. If we can make it to the gym twice a day, work, and school, then there should be no excuses as to why you don’t have time to change your life for the better. It’s all a mind game. If you want to  lose weight or look better or start going to the gym, then JUST GET UP AND DO IT.
